Saturday June 9th 2018 | 411 Motor Speedway Results | Tennessee

Tennessee’s action track was back with a full seven classes of racing in front of a packed crowd who all came out to see the weekend warriors due battle under a scorching hot sun.
Rusty Ballenger came into the night sitting fourth in the standings with one win already in the season. Ballenger would set fast time in qualifying being one of only two cars to get under the 15 second mark. Ballenger took the lead on the start with Josh Henry, Trevor Sise, Eli Beets and Grant Corum giving chase. Henry has had a very strong 2018 season as he currently leads the track season point standings and had another great run going as he worked over Ballenger for the lead. He wasn’t the only driver on go as Trevor Sise was all over him for the runner up spot. Ballenger began to pull away until he came up to a slower car with allowed the second and third place drivers to reel him back in. It was a rough night for Tyler Howard as he spun on two occasions ending his night early. Henry and Sise would trade the second spot a couple times in the final laps but neither could get past Ballenger who went on to pick up his second win of the season.

Tom Juhl came into the night leading the points in the classic car standings but would not make the call for the A main. Instead it was Lee Merritt who has already had a career making season with 5 wins at Volunteer Speedway and a win at 411 taking the lead on the green. Merritt had his hands full with Will Carey who was looking to get his first ever win at Tennessee’s action track. Those two drivers had hit their setups just right as they pulled away from the rest of the field. Merritt looked like he was gonna be able to hold on but ran into trouble when he ended up pointing the wrong way into turn one. With Carey up front it was cruise control as he the #16 got smaller and smaller in everyone’s windshields and went on to win.

Robbie Comer picked up his first win of the season the previous race but had smoke trailing from the back of his #42 machine almost instantly and ended up spinning in turn four bringing out the early cation. Back under green it was Ogle in charge having to hold off a strong #10 of Dustin Ratliff. Eric Hux was making his season debut in the #01 usually driven by Wayne Rader and had a strong run going in the third spot the majority of the race. Lance Creamsan and Jerry Hux also had a great battle for the fourth spot as they ran bumper to bumper most of the early laps. The strong run Ratliff had going came to an end on the very last turn as he spun while running in the second spot. Rocky Ogle would pull away in the second half to win his first race of the season.

Jason Melton and Adam Pressley had two separate accidents together. Cardwell put his #07 into the wind on the start with point leader David Crabtree, Jordan Rodabaugh, Ellery Leake and Bobby Giffin rounding out the top five. Cardwell wasted no time in pulling away as his #07 was a rocket from the get go. Rodabaugh and Crabtree had a fantastic battle for the runner up spot with Crabtree eventually giving up the spot. Cardwell found himself in slower traffic on lap 17 allowing Rodabaugh to chew up a little of his lead. Grigsby was on a rocket ship from the start as he quickly pulled away from Wayne James who held down the second spot over his son Tyler James. Seagle kept pace with younger Sise brother but the #9 was hooked up and began to pull away as the laps ticked off. Adam Mitchell would get past Gloyne putting himself up into the fourth spot later in the race. Up front it was all Zach Sise who cruised to the win.
