On the night before the night before area event, Aaron Reutzel led the charge of All Star Sprints at the Bedford Speedway Thursday night. It was Reutzel’s first ever Bedford feature win and came in dominating fashion leading every one of the 30 laps. In the only other event on the card, Justin Williamson also scored a first ever Bedford win in 4 Cylinder action.

After winning the Dash, Aaron Reutzel led the 24 car All Star starting field to the green. He go a great start and took the initial lead moving out to a healthy advantage over the field as battles raged all through the pack.

After pulling away early, Reutzel found his lead shrinking as Brian Brown began closing seriously by the enent’s halfway point. After lapping Logan Wagner on lap 16, Reutzel was unable to shake him and Brian Brown closed on both of them.

When Brown cleared Wagner on lap 24, action was slowed for the first time as Trey Starks slowed on the backstretch. Since Brown had closed so significantly, all expected a lead position battle on the restart, but Reutzel boomed away to another serious margin.

The field had one more shot at Reutzel as Greg Wilson slowed on lap 28, but again Reutzel scooted away on the two lap shootout for the big win. Brown, the most recent All Star winner at the track, chased him to score second, ahead of James McFadden, Dale Blaney and Danny Dietrich.

Reutzel, Kerry Madsen and James McFadden won the heats. Gerard McIntyre won the B feature. In earlier time trials, Trey Starks set fast time with a new track record.

In the 4 Cylinder undercard, Justin Williamson emerged from a serious three car battle to score a first ever Bedford win. Todd Price was the early leader but Williamson and Ryan Peer joined him at the front.

Williamson got by for he lead on lap 4. Peer spun out on lap 6. leaving Price to chase Williamson as Peer came from the back. Although Peer roared back to take second at the line, Williamson held on for the win. Price led Ernie Hewitt and Colin Welsh to the finish. Peer and Jay Talley won the heats.
