9.19.20 Southern Texas Late Models Results

Whitaker jumped out to the early lead with the preferred top line. Leonard was able to make the pass as the leaders approached lapped traffic. Whitaker pulled off with power train issues. Leonard held off hard charging restarts from Begnaud and Kulhanek.

Championship: Leonard came in as the points leader with a lead of just over 7 finishing positions of Begnaud and 9 finishing positions over Theiss. By winning, Cody Leonard sealed his second consecutive championship in as many seasons on the tour.

Austin Theiss opted for passing points to try and make a championship charge but came up short. After Challenging Begnaud and moving into 3rd, Begnaud was able to get back by. Theiss held on to 4th from there.

The Southern Touring Late Model Series was formed in 2012 and is owned by veteran racer Kody Hardage, of Seguin, Texas. The series is keeping dirt Super Late Model racing alive and thriving in the Lone Star State and points beyond. It is intended to be an affordable regional tour for racers.
